# What An Arduino (WeMos D1 Mini) based controller to remotely control the temperature and functions of my 2012 Master Spas Twilight Series TS7.2 Hot Tub (using a Balboa VS Series MS1600 Spa Pack (P/N 55543). This project builds off the excellent work of **github/MagnusPer** [MagnusPer on github](https://github.com/MagnusPer/Balboa-GS510SZ). MagnusPer scoped the 8-pin control panel on his Balboa GS510SZ spa pack and was able to bitbang some basic control with a WeMos D1 Mini arduino. More importantly, he designed a lovely opto-isolated circuit and released a complete Gerber file and PickAndPlace so I was able to order 5 populated boards from JLCPCB for around $50 shipped. Amazing. # Why This is a massive first world problem, but having to go outside (and remember to do so) 1-2 hours before you want to use the hot tub in the winter is hugely annoying. Worse if you have ADHD and you forget to turn it back down again resulting in inflated electricity bills! There are NO commercial solutions to connect an older hot tub to the internet or even control it remotely.
