## AI Summary
This Reddit post from r/CX50, titled \\"Brake Pads\\" and posted by u/A_Nordic_Corgi a year ago, details the user's experience replacing brake pads on their Mazda CX-50. The user changed both front and rear pads at 45,000 miles, finding them halfway worn, which was a surprise but prompted the change for a cross-country trip. Aftermarket pads (Bosch Quiet Cast for front, Power Friction for rear) fit easily, and the user noted improved braking over OEM.
Key discussion points in the comments include:
* Inquiries about the car being NA or turbo, pad brands, and rotor wear.
* Confirmation the car is NA, rotors were still good.
* Discussion about premature brake wear issues reported by some CX-50 owners, with several users stating they had not experienced it (e.g., 20k miles with 3/4 pad life).
* One user, u/scorps77, reported having all four brakes replaced under warranty at 11,000 km due to rapid wear.
* Tips for rear brake pad changes, including using \\"brake maintenance mode\\" for the electronic parking brake.
* A user reported finding stiff caliper guide pins at 13k miles, which, after cleaning and re-lubing, resolved an issue where pads were half-worn.
* Another user linked to a collective post seeking to acknowledge early brake pad wear issues with Mazda.
## Original Content
Did a full brake pad change today on my primary 50. Both front and back sets were halfway spent at 45k miles. Kind of surprised, but went ahead and changed them out since I am taking another cross country in 3 weeks. Aftermarket fit like a glove. Holding on to my OEM's just in case I need them again down the road for either 50. Easiest brake change I have ever done.

> Is the 50 a turbo or NA? Out of curiosity what brand of pads did you use and part number? Did you look into replacing the rotors or measure them for wear? Curious how much they lost over 45k miles

> I replaced the front brake pads today. Still looking for a known brand for the rears. Anyways, super easy job. I noticed 3 of 4 caliper guide pins were very hard to move, approaching unmoving. This is at 13k miles. Cleaning and re-lubing addressed the issue. Pads were approximately half worn. Might be worth a look on everyone's car having issues.

> Dumb question. I am about to order pads as well from Rock Auto. When you buy a set of pads... And this is the dumb part... You are just buying one set... Not a pair, correct. So one order of pads gets you pads for one wheel, correct?

> I should add for everyone, Factory did indeed add adhesive to the hardware clips to keep them in place. When changing pads, be prepared to tug a little harder to peel them off to change them.
