## 2026-04-24
- Placed first MISUMI order for the Main Frame + Working Enclosure Frame + Frame Electronics Enclosure extrusions (all tapped/counterbored variants per the BOM).
- Same-day extras: T-Slot table extrusions from MISUMI, AC VFD spindle (G-Penny 1.5kW with H100 VFD) from AliExpress, miscellaneous from Amazon and Zyltech.
## 2026-05-10
- Ordered all opaque steel panels (frame + electronics enclosure) from local vendor in 3mm steel, to be powdercoated.
- Ordered the G-Penny 1.5kW spindle/VFD package from AliExpress.
## 2026-05-12
- Big McMaster-Carr hardware order: most of the SHCS sizes (M3x10 through M8x90), threaded rod, dowel pin, extrusion slot covers, sexbolt-related parts. Mostly bought in 25–100x quantities for spares.
- Ordered the long-jon kit and doom PCB (sexbolt endstop kit area).
## 2026-05-14
- Second McMaster-Carr hardware run: most of the BHCS sizes (M4–M8), all the M5/M6/M8 washers and hex nuts (50–100x for spares), rubber feet, accordion covers, shim tape, drill bits, M8 counterbore tool.
- Ordered all the T-nuts (M3/M5/M6 in 2020 and 3030) from ZYLTech and KB-3D.
## 2026-05-19
- Electronics order day: 24V/5V DIN PSUs (Meanwell HDR-30-24, HDR-30-5), 60mm 24V fan, DIN rail, drag chain, E-stop button, PowerCON in+cable, inductive endstops, TA35 circuit breaker, Weg mini contactor, M12/M16 buttons, NO 3D probe.

## 2026-05-20
- Smoked electronics enclosure side panel from SendCutSend (acrylic), plus all the clear polycarbonate working-enclosure panels.
- 65mm spindle clamp with 80x30 bolt pattern from AliExpress (G-Penny's provided clamp doesn't fit).
- Daylight-on-a-matchstick from KB-3D.
- Ordered RobotDigg motion bits (3x).
- Ordered 1x M5x35 sexbolt to cut down (the BOM-spec M5x20 length is part of the sexbolt endstop kit).
# Decisions
- **Spindle**: AC VFD route (G-Penny 1.5kW 24k RPM ER16 + H100 VFD). Strongly preferred over DC option per Voron's note. Spindle clamp ordered separately since the bundled clamp doesn't fit the 80x30 bolt pattern.
- **Work table**: Option 1 T-Slot (HFSQN4-15100-300) for now — cheaper, easier to start with. Option 2 (SMW grid plate) flagged as a future upgrade.
- **Panels**: Opaque structural and electronics-enclosure panels in **3mm steel** (powdercoated, local vendor) rather than aluminum. Clear and smoked panels via SendCutSend.
- **Hardware sourcing**: McMaster-Carr for most fastener variety (everything I'm light on at home), ZYLTech for bulk T-nuts, "self" for anything already in stock — see the "already have" rows.
- **Endstops**: Sexbolt endstop kit from KB-3D bundled with the long-jon kit and doom PCB. Substituted M5x35 sexbolt for the spec'd M5x20 (cutting to length).
- **Power architecture**: see [[Electronics]] — Meanwell NDR-480-48 (steppers/48V), HDR-30-24 (24V controller/fans), HDR-30-5 (5V logic). Pi 5 powered via GPIO from a separate 5V/8A DIN supply with `usb_max_current_enable=1`.
