## Base Linear Rail Shimming

@erikbuild measure front to back parallel to the rails and divide it into 5, mark with painters tape on both sides so you're at the same spot, put a straight edge across those points (but make sure the straight edge isn't on the tape or whatever you use to mark the positions) bring one of the carriages on each rail under the straight edge, and measure the raised bits on either side to the straight edge using calipers, note the measurements, do it across all 4 raised bits of the carriage, and do that for each spot you've marked out

here is my exceedingly dumb question: do I like, cut little bits of the shim tape and put it between the linear rail and the 3030 extrusion where it's low?

yes
because youre measuring across the rail it took me a bit to figure out that you needed to shim along the edge of the rail so it only raises the one side
